Newbie Tip: How to take screenshots on your iPhone

Have you ever wanted to grab a screenshot of something on your iPhone? No? Well, just humor us. Let’s pretend you just got the high score in Critter Crunch, and wanted to e-mail a shot to your friends before your iPhone crashes and you lose your proof. Well, Apple has actually made it pretty easy to grab a shot of whatever happens to be on your iPhone’s screen with the newly released version 2 iPhone firmware update. Simply follow these steps.

Taking an iPhone screen shot is as easy as 1, 2, 3

Taking an iPhone screen shot is as easy as 1, 2, 3

1- Hold down the circular “Home” button on the bottom of your iPhone
2- While still holding it, quickly press and release the “Sleep” button on the top of your iPhone. If all goes well, the screen will flash white (like a camera’s flash).
3- Now just look for your screengrab in your iPhone’s camera roll in the Photos app.

You know, it really bothers me they took out the ability to let you take a screenshot of the locked screen.

Actually, you don’t need to hold down the home button. You just have to hit the home and power buttons at almost exactly the same time.
